Matt Schinske is a concert pianist known for an exquisite touch that comes from a warm spirit. Combining elements of classical, jazz, and pop, his distinct sound expresses joy and peace that reaches the heart of the listener.

At age 4, Schinske managed to strap on his dad’s accordion when no one was looking and his music career was under way. When he was 6, Matt began piano studies with Dr. Blythe Owen at Andrews University in his home state of Michigan. His first boost in piano came his freshman year of high school when he began competing and placing in local and national piano competitions. This eventually led to a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Schinske then began studies at the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Up until this point, Matt kept his studies almost purely to classical music, but while at the University of Oklahoma, he found a love for jazz and pop music. It wasn’t long before he was performing across the nation, including performances for former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Larry Hagman, JC Watts, and others. Schinske was also called on by universities, schools, and churches to teach workshops guiding the use of music technology in education and in church settings.

As a composer and arranger, Matt developed his sound fusing elements of classical, jazz, and pop. His piano works include over 40 pieces and 3 books published by Alfred Music, Lorenz Publications, and Hal Leonard. An original composition, “Bird’s Eye,” was added to the National Federation list for 2017-2020. In 2018, a book of Christmas arrangements, “One Starry Night,” was published by Lorenz. The release of the book was followed by a solo piano recording under the same title. Matt has 5 other recordings that include original compositions and arrangements from sacred, jazz standards, and pop repertoire.

Schinske is an active performer with solo concerts and performing with bands and orchestras. Since 2019, Schinske has been on tour across the US with America’s Got Talent winner, Darci Lynne as Music Director and featured pianist.
